God of seeing

  • November 9th, 2005

I saw an old church with pews and only one old man in the church, sleeping. He was seated in one of the pews, slouched over, almost dead in appearance. A finger ‘poked’ him in the back waking him up, but not completely startling the man.

“I know what you are doing - you have a reputation for being alive, but in fact you are dead! Wake up, and strengthen what remains, before it dies too! For I have found what you are doing incomplete in the sight of my God. So remember what you received and heard, and obey it, and turn from your sin! For if you don’t wake up, I will come like a thief; and you don’t know at what moment I will come upon you.” (Revelations 3:1-3) Jesus has brought some things to our attention that we should obey, they might include: Husband and wife prayer and reading of the word; Continuous praise; Thanksgiving to God for all things; Charitable giving (compassion); Praying at all times and making intercession. Whatever it is, we should “not grow weary of doing good; for if we don’t give up, we will in due time reap the harvest.” (Galatians 6:7+-) We must turn from our disobedience and obey these things so that we can strengthen what remains.

There was a time when the people in the land of Israel had said, “Adonai can’t see us; Adonai has left the land” (Ezekiel 8:12) and “they did not listen or pay attention; instead, they followed the stubborn inclinations of their evil hearts. They went backward and not forward.” (Jeremiah 7:24) The people had assumed that God was not watching, that “The LORD will do nothing, either good or bad.” (Zephaniah 1:12), but God is watching to fulfill His word. Here is a conversation that took place between Jeremiah and Adonai. “The word of Adonai came to me asking, “Jeremiah, what do you see?” I answered, “I see a branch from an almond tree [Hebrew shaked]. Then Adonai said to me, “You have seen well because I am watching [Hebrew shoked] to fulfill my word.”" (Jeremiah 1:11) It’s foolishness to think that God isn’t watching that he will do neither good nor bad, God is continually watching to fulfill His word, it may be judgment, it may be blessing depending on what has been sown. “Don’t delude yourselves; no one makes a fool of God! A person reaps what he sows. Those who keep sowing in the field of their own nature, in order to meet its demands, will eventually reap ruin; but those who keep sowing in the field of the Spirit will reap everlasting life. So let us not grow weary in doing what is good; for if we don’t give up, we will in due time reap the harvest.” (Galatians 6:7+)

God has ordained seasons in our lives. He gives us his word to obey and then he waits to receive the harvest. He is watching the fields. Jesus described this season in Matthew 25:14, “For it will be a like a man about to leave home for awhile, who entrusted his possessions to his servants. To one he gave five talents [equivalent to a hundred years' wages]; to another, two talents; and to another, one talent - to each according to his ability. Then he left. The one who had received five talents immediately went out, invested it and earned another five. Similarly the one given two earned another two. But the one given one talent went off, dug a hole in the ground and hid his masters money. After a long time, the master returned to settle accounts with them.” The parable continues in Matthew 25:20. The servants had been given some things to do, and the master left them for a long time and returned to give them their rewards according to what they had done while the master was away. While God is always watching, it’s easy for us to perceive that He is not; we are to remain faithful and obey those things which we have received and heard. God is watching to fulfill His word, we must be ready unlike the foolish virgins who ended up doing everything they were supposed to, but it was just too late (Matthew 25:1-12). We need to wake-up. We need to have Hagar’s revelation. She hadn’t seen or heard God before, but she came to this conclusion at their first meeting, “So she [Hagar] named Adonai who had spoken with her El Ro ‘i [God of seeing], because she said, “Have I really seen the one who sees me [and stayed alive]?”" (Genesis 16:13) The lasting impact on Hagar was that this is the God who notices me, God had even told her to call her son, “Yishma’el [God pays attention] because Adonai has paid attention to your misery.” (Genesis 16:11) God has noticed your faithfulness that goes unrewarded; God has also noticed your disobedience that goes unrewarded. God is watching to fulfill His word in your life, wake-up and be ready.

Rick Joyner: Fruit of the land - Self Control

  • November 9th, 2005

It is interesting that the last aspect of the fruit of the Spirit is “self-control” (Galatians 5:23). Many Christians, in seeking to become submitted to the Holy Spirit or to eschew glory for anything that is accomplished through them spiritually, often say such things as: “That was not me—that was the Lord.” This may be a noble attempt to not take glory for things accomplished by the Lord, but it reveals a fundamental misunderstanding of how the Spirit actually does His work. Even worse, this often comes across to others as something between supreme arrogance and ridiculous. - Read the full article on MorningStarMinistries

Joni Faith (Ames) 2006 Shepherd’s Rod

  • November 6th, 2005

Last year at this time, I had it confirmed to me that I’d been given a Shepherd’s Rod for 2005. I prayed and wondered whether I’d get another one this year for 2006, and I believe I did.
For those of you who do not know what a Shepherd’s Rod is, the term “Shepherd’s Rod” refers to the belief that God’s people pass under His Shepherd’s Rod for evaluation and promotion, in much the same way that sheep pass before and are evaluated by their Shepherd. The term also refers to the prophetic revelation and interpretation that the Lord releases on and around the Day of Atonement — basically, “New Year’s Prophecies” and instruction for His people.
The following is what I believe the Lord gave me this year… - Read the full article on the ElijahList
